I’m sorry I broke your heart,
But it was so fragile and weak,
So thin,
Just waiting to be snapped into two.
I’m so sorry I broke the strings of your guitar,
But they were so tempting,
Just waiting to be ‘plucked’.
And I don’t think,
Anyone would miss you play anyway.
I’m sorry I tore the poem,
The one you wrote for your sweetheart,
But it was so silly and funny,
And I don’t think,
He would have read it anyway.
I’m sorry you fell and got hurt when I pushed,
But I just had to check,
When you said,
‘He would always be there to break my fall’.
I’m so sorry I ran away with your love,
But you said he was so perfect,
And I found his love so easily transferrable,
I couldn’t resist.
I hope you find someone better.
*this was written after i read "This is just to say" by William Carlos William. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as i enjoyed writing it.
